“Leadership is not just a position. It’s the courage to show up, light a spark, and celebrate the light in others.”

In August, during Women’s month, I had the honour of being part of the “Light My Fire” event hosted by the Stellenbosch Business Institute (SBI) — an initiative focused on celebrating women in leadership and reigniting the passion that fuels our personal and professional journeys.

This vibrant gathering was more than just an event. It was a reminder that even in the demanding pace of our lives, we as women continue to lead with purpose, connection, and celebration.

What It Meant to Me

Standing among remarkable women — leaders, entrepreneurs, change-makers — I was reminded of how vital it is to pause and reflect, to dance and speak, and to share our fire without fear of losing it.

You can catch a short clip of me in this video recap by SBI, sharing a few thoughts and joining in the collective joy that followed. It may only be a moment on screen, but behind that moment is a much longer journey — one that continues to fuel the work I do today as a Life & Business Coach.

Coaching as a Catalyst for Leadership

At SaraiG Compass Coaching, I work with professionals who are at turning points be it in their careers, in confidence, or in leadership identity. Whether you are stepping into a new role, seeking clarity, or trying to reignite your sense of purpose, coaching becomes the gentle spark that turns reflection into transformation.

Coaching provides a space to:

  • Reconnect with your voice
  • Celebrate your growth
  • Lead yourself forward with intention

Looking Ahead

This event reminded me that we are never lighting these fires for ourselves alone. We are part of a greater ecosystem of women and leaders reshaping how the world works, leads, and listens.

If you are at that moment in your own journey, I invite you to connect.

Let’s take the first step together.
